By accessing or using InformedJD ("the Service"), operated by FrankVenture LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
InformedJD is an informational platform designed to help law students and early-career lawyers research law firms, judicial clerkships, and legal career paths. The Service aggregates publicly available information and provides subjective analysis, opinions, and commentary about law firm culture, work environments, and related topics.
All firm culture scores, ratings, assessments, rankings, and characterizations presented on InformedJD represent opinions and subjective analysis, not statements of fact. These opinions are derived from publicly available data sources including, but not limited to, published surveys, public reviews, news articles, firm websites, and publicly filed documents. Individual experiences at any firm may vary significantly from the characterizations presented here.
The Service does not provide legal advice, employment advice, or professional counseling of any kind. Nothing on InformedJD should be construed as legal, financial, or career advice. You should consult with qualified professionals before making career decisions.
InformedJD is an independent platform. InformedJD and FrankVenture LLC are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, partnered with, or otherwise connected to any law firm, judge, court, chblues, bar association, law school, government agency, public defender office, district attorney office, public interest organization, in-house legal department, recruiter, or any other legal employer or institution mentioned on the platform. The inclusion of any firm, organization, judge, school, or individual does not imply any relationship, endorsement, approval, certification, or business affiliation. All trademarks and brand names referenced are the property of their respective owners and are used solely for identification under principles of nominative fair use.
All firm data, salary figures, hours information, culture scores, rankings, and analysis on InformedJD are derived from publicly available information(firm websites, NALP forms, public regulatory filings, news, salary trackers, court records, and voluntary user submissions). We do not access non-public records and do not solicit confidential information from any firm. You must independently verify any information on InformedJD before relying on it for any career, financial, or legal decision. Information may be outdated, incomplete, or contain errors. Confirm directly with the firm, the firm's official careers page, or another authoritative primary source before acting. Your reliance on any content is at your sole risk.
While we strive to present accurate information, we make no warranties or representations regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any content on the Service. Data may be outdated, incomplete, or contain errors. Automated data collection and analysis may introduce inaccuracies. Culture scores are generated through algorithmic analysis of public data and represent computational opinions that may not reflect current conditions.
We do not guarantee any particular outcome from using the Service, including but not limited to job placement, interview success, or career satisfaction. Match scores and recommendations are based on self-reported preferences and algorithmically derived opinions, and should be treated as one input among many in your career decision-making process.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account. You agree not to:
If you submit content (such as firm information or reviews), you represent that the content is truthful to the best of your knowledge, does not violate any third-party rights, and is not defamatory. We reserve the right to remove or modify any user-submitted content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute submitted content in connection with the Service.
The Service, including its design, features, content (excluding user submissions and publicly sourced data), and underlying technology, is owned by FrankVenture LLC and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without prior written consent.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FRANKVENTURE LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, AND WHETHER OR NOT WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU HAVE ACTUALLY PAID TO FRANKVENTURE LLC FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID FRANKVENTURE LLC ANY AMOUNTS IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY IS TO STOP USING THE SERVICE.
You and FrankVenture LLC agree that this limitation reflects an allocation of risk that is an essential basis of the bargain between the parties, and these limitations apply even if any limited remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitations on certain damages; in such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FrankVenture LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.
Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to first contact us at legal@informedjd.com with a written description of the dispute and the relief you seek, and to engage in good-faith efforts to resolve the dispute informally for a period of at least thirty (30) days.
If the dispute is not resolved informally within thirty (30) days, the parties agree to submit the dispute to non-binding mediation administered by JAMS or the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") in Dallas County, Texas, before a single mediator mutually agreed upon by the parties. Each party shall bear its own costs of mediation, and the parties shall split the mediator's fees equally. Mediation is a condition precedent to arbitration.
If the dispute is not resolved through mediation, the dispute shall be resolved exclusively by final and binding arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules and, where applicable, its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration shall be conducted by a single arbitrator in Dallas County, Texas, and judgment on the arbitral award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction. The arbitrator shall have exclusive authority to resolve any dispute relating to the interpretation, applicability, enforceability, or formation of this arbitration agreement, including any claim that all or any part of it is void or voidable.
YOU AND FRANKVENTURE LLC EACH HEREBY KNOWINGLY, VOLUNTARILY, AND IRREVOCABLY WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY IN ANY PROCEEDING ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE.
YOU AND FRANKVENTURE LLC AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, COLLECTIVE, REPRESENTATIVE, OR PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ACTION OR PROCEEDING. The arbitrator may not consolidate more than one person's claims and may not otherwise preside over any form of representative or class proceeding. If a court determines that this class action waiver is unenforceable as to any particular claim, then that claim (and only that claim) shall be severed from arbitration and brought in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas.
The arbitrator shall have no authority to award punitive, exemplary, consequential, indirect, incidental, or special damages of any kind. Each party shall bear its own attorneys' fees and costs except where applicable law expressly provides otherwise.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, either party may seek temporary or preliminary injunctive relief in the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas to protect intellectual property rights or confidential information, without breach of this arbitration provision and without any requirement of mediation.
Any claim arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose; otherwise the claim is permanently barred.
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Service are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Subject to the arbitration provisions in Section 9, the exclusive venue for any judicial proceeding permitted under these Terms shall be the state or federal courts located in Dallas County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and FrankVenture LLC regarding the Service.
Certain features of the Service require a paid subscription. By starting a subscription you authorize FrankVenture LLC and its PCI-compliant payment processor to charge your payment method on a recurring basis according to the plan you select.
Paid plans may include a free trial period (currently seven days). A valid payment method is required to start the trial. Unless you cancel before the end of the trial, your payment method will be automatically charged the full subscription price at the end of the trial period and on each renewal date thereafter. We will make a reasonable effort to remind you by email before your trial ends, but you remain solely responsible for cancelling on time if you do not wish to be charged.
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle (monthly or annual, depending on your plan) at the then-current price until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from the Billing page in your account or by emailing billing@informedjd.com. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you retain access until then.
Except where required by law, all subscription fees are non-refundable. If you cancel mid-period, you will not receive a prorated refund of unused time.
We may change subscription prices from time to time. Price changes take effect on the next renewal after notice is provided. If you do not agree to a new price, you may cancel before it takes effect.
If a recurring payment fails, we may retry the charge and may suspend access to paid features until payment is successfully processed. Repeated payment failures may result in cancellation of your subscription.
By using the Service, you release FrankVenture LLC, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, contractors, and agents from any and all claims, demands, losses, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to your reliance on any content, score, ranking, recommendation, mock interview feedback, or other material on the Service. This release is intended to be as broad as permitted by applicable law.
Questions about these Terms should be directed to legal@informedjd.com.
